World Record: Speed Grape Catching

The Rules

(If you want to break a record that is published in a record book or governed by an international authorithy, there may be other or additional rules. See here for more information.)

1. The thrower(s) and catcher have to be 15 ft (4.575 m) apart toe to toe. Any throws released, or caught, while on or in front of the 15 foot line is discounted.
2. The grapes have to be caught in the mouth without the use of the catcher's hands or the use of any device to help "funnel" the grape into the mouth.
3. The time period for this event is one minute. The first grape cannot be released until time starts. The last grape in the air as time expires is a legal throw and would count if caught.
4. You must have an official timekeeper as well as a counter (2 people) to help verify the catches. It is too difficult for one person to get an accurate count as well as keep up with the time and officially make a correct assessment of both.
5. Any type of grape is perfectly legal. The thrower can throw the grape in any fashion he/she prefers

The World Record

The current world record is 67 grapes caught in the mouth in one minute by Steve Spalding (USA) on 10 Sep 2006 in Grapevine, Texas. The throwers were Scott Spalding and Dave Parnell.
